Bracken Bat Cave
Batten down the hatches and head for the the Bracken Bat Cave where your family and friends will witness an unbelievably cool spectacle. A tornado of 20 million bats emerging from their cave at sunset - WOW! This is literally the largest bat colony in the world. This is a truly special opportunity as the cave is not open to the public. Bring up to 30 friends or family members (kids welcome) to see the evening emergence of the 20 million bats from Bracken Cave. Your guests will be accompanied by Bat Conservation representatives who will present information on the site and the bats. This site is featured in the National Geographic documentary Strange Creatures Of The Night, the National Geographic’s Kids website and was the focus of a Kratt Brothers “Be the Creature” episode. The director of Boston University’s Center for Ecology and Conservation Biology calls Bracken Cave “one of the great wonders of the world.” The date of the event for the winning bidder will be mutually agreed upon by the winner and Bat Conservation International. The bats are “at home” to guests from May through October. 45min S. of Austin off of I35 next to Natural Bridge Caverns.
